More energy efficient equipment means less heat, longer product life, lower air conditioning on top energy savings that can be substantial. Acer’s LCD displays with two lamp design can reduce power consumption by over 50%, whereas monitors using LED technology can save up more than 63% energy compared to traditional monitors. This means that using the Acer S243HL WLED display helps reduce 16.04 kg of CO2 output annually. That's CO2 absorption by 1.33 trees. In the long run, buying environmentally friendly products can be a very smart choice not only for the environment but also reducing the total cost of ownership.

Acer professional EcoDisplays achieve an environmentally friendly design in the following ways: proper management of restricted substances; power-saving designs; product thinness (S243HL < 15 mm slimmest 24” display in the market) and minimalist packaging design; capacity for product recycling.

Most of plastic housing and mechanical parts used for Acer’s monitors do not contain hazardous substances such as PVC and BFR. Specifically, monitors’ casing, printed circuit board laminates, connectors and internal cables are free of PVC and BFR. Now Acer introduces mercury free displays that use LED-lighting instead of conventional fluorescent lamps.

Besides being mercury free, LED lamp design offers several benefits, including lower energy consumption, greater efficiency, longer lifetime, smaller size (allowing thinner designs) and increased robustness making it difficult to difficult to damage with external shock.
