De Aspire 5551 ziet er supermooi uit en is tegelijk ook heel praktisch. Deze in zwart en zilver verkrijgbare notebook is aan de buitenkant voorzien van een gaaspatroon dat er niet alleen goed uitziet maar ook nog eens beschermt tegen vlekken en krassen. Ook is er een volformaat Acer FineTip-toetsenbord met numeriek toetsenbord aanwezig dat met z’n grote toetsen heerlijk typt, en daarnaast een multi-gesture touchpad waarmee u bij webpagina's, bestanden en afbeeldingen eenvoudig kunt scrollen, knijpen, draaien en kantelen.

Het Acer CineCrystal™-beeldscherm met led-achtergrondverlichting heeft een beeldverhouding van 16:9 en een responstijd van slechts 8ms, waardoor de weergave haarscherp is en kleuren beter tot hun recht komen. Om het helemaal af te maken is er een HDMI™-poort aanwezig waarmee de notebook op een tv of projector is aan te sluiten, zodat u in Full HD van adembenemend amusement kunt genieten.
